CMR-17 Compliance

On March 1, 2010, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts officially put into effect a law designed to protect residents’ privacy: 201 CMR 17.00: Standards for the Protection of Personal Information of the Residents of the Commonwealth.

Businesses of all sizes are required to comply with this law, but there remains much confusion as to how.

At Paragus, we have been studying CMR-17 since the law was passed. We have been able to help many businesses become compliant with no expensive changes. Our staff CMR-17 compliance specialists are available to help you through our low-cost, flat-fee compliance package.

We will help you develop your legally mandated Written Information Security Plan (WISP) or review your WISP to ensure you are compliant from an I.T. standpoint.

From there, we can help you implement your WISP, finding affordable solutions for the secure physical and electronic transmission and storage of data that contain personal information. From start to finish, we will help you fulfill your legal obligations without breaking the bank.
